DESIGN AWARD

Aman Kyoto interiors are developed in tandem with the architecture and in so doing, embodies a cohesive sophistication inside and out, that is subtly modern while remaining reverential to cultural references. There is good balance between communal areas where dark stained timber interiors exude luxury, and suites, which are, in contrast, light-filled, highly crafted spaces that open into garden views. The interiors are decidedly more expressive and detailed compared to the architecture where curved light wood tables, chairs and washi lanterns offer interesting counterpoints. Aman Kyoto interiors is a nod to Japanese design, without resorting to imitation.
