Set in a complex of conservation buildings that collectively has a rich history, the project rightly put effort into integrating historical classical motifs with the functions of the modern bathroom. Automated soap dispensers and hand-dryers were cleverly integrated into the mirror and light fixtures. The jury were impressed with the effort that went into customising these fixtures.
The jury felt that the location of the bathrooms within the vast complex could be more strategic to allow clear and easy access by restaurant patrons. The jury also felt that the distribution of space within the bathroom could have been better optimised, given the spacious washing area and the tighter space within the cubicles.
